Summary of Current Event
The
race to 2016 presidential elections in US has attracted an array of comments
and strongly provocative stances from various candidates. Donald Trump has
openly differed with the current US immigration policies as such offering tough
opinions with far reaching implications (Jaffe, 2015). Donald Trump has been
vocal on the stormy issue declaring to initiate stricter limits to legal
immigration as well as overturn the law that allows people born in America to
obtain citizenship (Diamond & Murray, 2015). According to Strain (2015),
Donald Trump policy would turn the US into a police state.
The
Trump’s immigration policy suffers a great deal of moral limitation. In his
1900 page paper Donald Trump outlined his plan to force Mexico to pay for a
border wall across the porous Mexico-US border. Arguably, the partition would
prevent the United States from trade deficits it has been suffering as a result
of illegal immigration. However, these assertions drew harsh criticism from
Mexican leaders especially the former president, Felipe Calderon and his party
colleagues (Jaffe, 2015). Calling for the suspension of the issuance of new
green cards, Trump suggests that American employers should hire from the
domestic pool of unemployed Americans (Diamond & Murray, 2015). Political
pundits have raised grave concerns over the Trump’s immigration policy.
Families would be affected; business disrupted and probably turns people
against each other (Strain, 2015).

Rationale

Immigrants
in the US
|
Immigrants
in the US will be affected by the immigration issue. Most of the immigrants
are not documented and as such they could be deported back to their
countries. Most of the immigrants moved to US in search for political asylum
or economic opportunities.
|
US
Employers
|
US
employees face imminent economic losses as a result of stormy topic.
Apparently, US employers have been sourcing cheaper labor from immigrants. In
addition, many professionals entered the US through the green card program
allowing employers to access technical experts for their firms.
|
The
Republican Party
|
The
Republican party is affected in this immigration issue and Trump assertions.
The party stands to lose key support from immigrants, and the people of
color.
|
Mexicans
|
Mexicans
stand to lose important trade partners in the US. Building a wall across the
US-Mexican border would enhance stricter and one sided trade regulations.
|
US
Citizens
|
Trump
plans on the immigration policy would cause many American citizens to be
deported back into the US as countries take retaliation measures.

4. PR
Implications
Donald
Trump’s immigration policy effects have attracted extensive attention (Strain,
2015). As a result of the immigration issue, Donald Trump could lose large
number voters who feel alienated from the American dream. Asserting to press
for stricter immigration regulations and overturning the law could be a blow to
his presidential bid. Voters wish to vote from leaders who would cultivate
unity and proper working relationship with the majority, protect their economic
gains and uphold the rule of the law without discrimination. Apparently,
immigration issues raise serious implications as they would affect mostly the
people of color. Arguably, altering the current law and initiating stiff
regulations would trigger racial undertones that could impact Donald’s ratings
as a pillar of free America as envisioned by conservatives. Remarkably, the
conservatives have been dismayed by his signature immigration policy. Imperatively,
Donald Trump has been under intense criticism from fellow republicans (Jaffe, 2015).
In
conclusion, immigration is a stormy issue in American politics. Presidential
candidates should be cautious of their opinions and assertions in regard to
immigrants. Seeking to overturn immigration rule, pausing green cards and
building a border wall against Mexico is detrimental to Donald trump. These
measures would not only jeopardize foreign relations but also affect his
domestic ratings and overall vote in the presidential bid. Therefore, in the
spirit of continued sober and cordial relationship among immigrants and the
Native Americans
